In Loving Memory of
Robert Justman
January 23, 1944 - June 30, 2006
Bob was a man who was devoted to God. We, the members of this Synod are fortunate to have served with such a man of faith. Bob served as Moderator of the Synod from October 2005 through present. One of his personal goals was to visit as many presbyteries in the Synod as possible to speak of partnership, and share the news about this Synod.
He served as a commission to the Synod from Sacramento Presbytery since October of 2000, and was the Chairman of the Synod Mission Finance Committee since October 2004. Bob also served on many task forces and committees for the Synod, the Mission Partnership Funding Consultation task force, the Audit Committee, and the Long Range Mission Partnership task force (which he chaired).
During Bob's visit to the Presbytery of Boise, he became very ill and was hospitalized. It was in the hospital, in Boise, where he was diagnosed with Aplasic Anemia, a rare bone marrow condition. After receiving red blood cells and platelets he was able to return home. Shortly after returning home, Bob was admitted into U. C. Davis Medical Center where he passed away on June 30th.
Bob's family said he fought a hard fight, but in the end was peaceful and unafraid.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob's family at this most difficult time. If you wish to express your condolences please send them to 6612 Whitsett Drive, North Highlands, California 95660-3830.
