Synod Assemblies
Synod of the Pacific is governed by fifty two Commissioners elected by the eleven presbyteries within its boundaries. Each Synod Commissioner is also a member of a Permanent Committee. Click here for more information about Commissioners and their Committees.
Beginning in 2010, the Synod of the Pacific will be holding two Assemblies, May and October, of its Commissioners. Assemblies begin with Task Force/Subcommittees meetings on Wednesday afternoon. Plenary starts the day on Thursday, at which reports are recieved, and new business may be introduced, followed by Permanent Committee meetings to deal with the business pertaining to each committee (Finance, Mission Partnership or Personnel). Thursday evening, commissioners join together for worship which includes Celebration of the Eucharist. Friday morning, Synod Assembly reconvens with a final plenary session in which each committee reports items of interest and brings recommended actions for discussion and action by the body of the Synod.
