Synod of the Pacific Receives TEFFY Award 
The TEFFY award was establish approximately five years ago to recognize those Presbyteries and Synods who have experienced a significant increase in Theological Education Fund (TEF) contributions during the previous year.
In 2003, while it was reported that although gifts to the TEF had been steadily decreasing nationally, there had been an increase from the churches in the Synod of the Pacific. The Synod has been recognized for their significant increase in TEF giving. One hundred churches in the Synod gave $125,582 in 2003 - an increase of over $10,000 in giving from ninety-eight churches in 2002.
Reverend Leigh Taylor, G.A. Representative for the Synod of the Pacific, received the award from General Assembly and in turn presented it to the Synod at its Stated Meeting in May.
Other 2003 recipients include the Synod of Lakes and Prairies, and the Synod of Southern California and Hawaii .
